This session highlights two of the earliest pilot initiatives in U.S. graduate medical education: the deployment of AI tools within a residency program and the development of a structured AI curriculum at a separate institution. Drawing on real-world case studies from internal medicine residency and continuing care, we will explore how these efforts impact clinical learning, physician trust, workflow, and future career decisions. We will also examine what currently exists and what is missing in GME around AI and technology, outlining essential elements for safe adoption, effective tool evaluation, and the integration of tech literacy into physician training.
