I grew up in Salt Lake City and have lived in San Diego for approximately 15 years. I got married soon after moving to San Diego, and now two children in primary school. They were both delivered at the Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center.
I primarily care for members in the hospital setting. With a background in public health, I sincerely believe that the best medicine is preventive medicine. There are inherent truths in the old adages, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," and, "a stitch in time saves nine." In bridging the practice of best medicine with medical research, I'm involved in committees and symposiums that bring together clinicians and academics for an exchange of new and best-practice ideas.
Having balance and harmony in my life remains a challenge. With two kids and their pets, I have to do more than just keep up—I have to make sure that we live well. To ensure that our kids develop good habits that will allow them to live healthy lifestyles, my wife and I stick to a healthy, rigid routine of eating balanced meals, taking vitamins, playing hard, and finding time to help members of our community in need.
