This session will cover Ochsner Health System’s approach to increase the adoption of medication e-visits for GLP-1 medications with the goal of creating a sustainable and reimbursable encounter that would compensate physicians for their time working outside of their normal working hours. Our approach is to utilize a machine learning enhanced Inbasket triage pipeline to identify and categorize messages pertaining to GLP-1 medications. After tagging GLP-1 related messages, we will also assign scores corresponding to the likelihood of pertaining to a certain relevant actionable category, such as prescription refill, dosage questions, scheduling an appointment, insurance questions, and trying new medications. The virtual nursing pool will then route these messages to the appropriate location to drive an increase in the number of reimbursable medication e-visits for GLP-1 medications and reduce  the number of messages unnecessarily handled by physicians.
