Dr Rohit Sangal

Dr. Sangal is board certified in clinical informatics and emergency medicine. He is interested in quality improvement, clinical operations and process improvement within healthcare. He is specifically interested in how we can leverage technology and the health record to provide optimal care allowing physicians and care teams to spend more time with patients.
He completed an Administration Fellowship in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Yale University and obtained his MBA from the Yale School of Management. As part of fellowship, he maintained leadership roles in multiple projects for the ED. Some included deactivating dozens of low value system alerts saving hundreds of thousands of clinician “clicks,” operationalizing ED observation care, driving communication of protocols around ED COVID management, and developing capital budgets and incentive plans. He is the Associate Medical Director of the Adult Emergency Department and is Medical Director within Care Signature working towards unifying care delivery across the health system nine emergency departments.
He has published multiple papers in multiple areas of administration including those on patient satisfaction, staff wellness, and management during COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Sangal earned his undergraduate degree at Bowdoin College double majoring in biochemistry and neuroscience. He completed medical school at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and emergency medicine residency at the University of Pennsylvania where he was chief resident. He is originally from Andover, MA and lives in the New Haven suburbs.
