Dr. Shady Saikali, MD, FACS, is a Senior Clinical Fellow specializing in robotic and minimally invasive urologic surgery. He pursued his medical school studies and residency at the Lebanese American University in Beirut. With over two years of advanced training under the mentorship of Dr. Vipul Patel at the Global Robotics Institute, Dr. Saikali has developed expertise in cutting-edge robotic surgery techniques, particularly in prostate surgery, and has focused a lot of his research in telesurgery innovation and artificial intelligence. He has co-authored several pivotal publications on the technical and ethical requirements for establishing safe and effective telesurgery, contributing to the dialogue on surgical advancements alongside key figures in robotic surgery and telecommunications. Dr. Saikali also played an instrumental role in co-founding a Collaborative Community website that fosters cross-disciplinary discussions among stakeholders in the telesurgery field. He also is and AI enthisiast, involving himself in multiple research projects pertrataining to machine learning, computer vision and patient clinical outcomes in prostate cancer. His work reflects a commitment to advancing surgical practice and education within the global medical community and harnessing artificial intelligence to propel the medical practice into the future.
