Dr. Wes Walker currently serves as the Director of Genomics & Personalized Health (GPH) for AdventHealth in central Florida. GPH consists of a portfolio of programs that integrate genomics and other multi-modal health data into the processes of early risk identification, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. This work extends across the spectrum of medical specialties and includes programs such as population genomics, hereditary cancer risk assessment, rapid whole genome sequencing in neonates, pediatric rare disease, cardiovascular disease, and behavioral health. Prior to leading GPH, Dr. Walker served as Associate Chief Medical Information Officer at AdventHealth and continues to be involved in applying informatics to improve health care outcomes. Before joining AdventHealth, Dr. Walker worked at Cerner, a large health information technology company, where he served as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for the eastern United States. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA Medical Center.
