Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
Dr. Goldsmith is faculty in the Division of Cardiac Critical Care Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. He is the Director of Cardiac Informatics for the Cardiac Center at CHOP, where he has led the hospital-system-wide implementations of a Real-Time Clinical Decision Support platform and Epic’s Cardiac module, Cupid, among many other innovative EMR and technology implementations and optimizations. Academically, Dr. Goldsmith is active in clinical informatics, where he explores the intersection of clinical decision support tools and clinical decision-making in the ICU environment. He has studied the impact of high-frequency vital sign monitoring on bias in conventional EMR reporting, the impact of analytic algorithms in supporting clinician decision-making, and optimizing human factors for clinical decision support tools. His ongoing research looks at ways to improve clinician comprehension and decision-making.
