Tammy Mahaney is a Doctor of Nurse Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner who received her doctorate at Medical University of South Carolina. She received her BSN at Syracuse University and simultaneously commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in ARMY ROTC. Dr. Mahaney served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Nurse Corp leading national forces in healthcare settings. She also taught homeschool classes to her 6 children and other families for 20 years.

As a medical professional, she is passionate about health and healing for all people, focusing on holistic-integrative health. She volunteers in global health missions with Medical Missions Outreach and has served in Nicaragua, Tanzania, Vanuatu, El Salvador, Ecuador, and Senegal. In her endeavors, missions, and educational adventures with her children, she has traveled to six continents and over fifty countries around the world.

Dr. Mahaney has diverse interests and has received certification in the Advanced Course with the American Board of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (ABAIM). This opened the door for her to join Suncoast Ventures as a Venture Capitalist, investing in companies that are bridging the gap of healthcare disparities through innovative solutions providing equity and access for all people.

Dr. Mahaney is a Provider in the Oakland and Union City RealOptions Obria medical clinics, providing access to women’s health including prenatal care up to 24 weeks. She is passionate about empowering and educating underserved minority women. She also serves at Bella Primary Care in San Francisco as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Director.

She has over 20 years of extensive nursing experience ranging from Medical/Surgical, Pediatric, Cardiology, Telemetry, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and worked In Los Angeles as the Gamma Knife Nurse collaborating with a specialized team of world-renowned Neurosurgeons, Anesthesiologists, Physicist, and Radiation Oncologist in helping patients with brain tumors. 



Dr. Mahaney and her husband also volunteer weekly as music teachers at Las Trampas School, an adult special needs facility where their oldest son attends. Along with her husband and children, she cooks for and serves families that are transitioning from homelessness at Shelter Inc. every month. She aspires to continue educating and serving men, women, children, and the unborn in her diverse settings, both locally and around the globe. On her spare time, she likes to hike with her family, play piano, and paint with watercolors and acrylics. Dr. Mahaney currently lives with her husband and 10 children in the Bay Area of California along with their Golden Doodle and 3lb Yorkie.
