Donna Fishkin, MS, LMT

Prof. Donna Fishkin considers herself blessed and fortunate to have been employed by Miami Dade College Medical Campus for the past 23 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree in health science and policy from the University of Maryland and her master’s degree in health management from The American University in Washington, D.C. During her tenure at Miami Dade College, she has held various roles, including Chairperson in the School of Health Sciences, Grant Manager, and faculty member. Most recently, Donna and her colleagues from the School of Health Sciences developed an “AI in Healthcare Applications” course as part of the College Credit Certificate in AI Awareness. Donna is also one of the recipients of the Miami Dade College President’s Innovation Fund Award for co-creating the CHAI project (Collaborative Healthcare in Artificial Intelligence). This project aims to enable Nursing and Health Sciences faculty and students to implement AI technology into their programs, assessing the benefits of using AI alongside current standards and protocols. Donna’s passion lies in student success, ensuring that learners understand crucial aspects of healthcare, including the integration of AI, which will help them excel as healthcare professionals. She has shared her expertise at conferences, symposiums, and community gatherings, emphasizing the importance of compassion in healthcare, self-care, ergonomics, and other health-related topics.
