Dr. Rashid is a physician and digital health leader with experience spanning clinical practice, health technology innovation, and federal regulation. She is board-certified in Family Medicine and practices as a hospitalist at a county health system in the San Francisco Bay Area, serving marginalized and vulnerable populations. At the FDA’s Digital Health Center of Excellence, she focused on advancing policies and regulatory frameworks for digital health technologies, sensors, and wearables, including AI/ML-enabled devices, an area with more than twelve hundred authorized products and growing rapidly. Prior to the FDA, she worked with early-stage start-ups developing digital health, AI/ML, and clinical decision support tools for both patients and physicians, as well as in venture capital to evaluate the market fit of emerging healthcare innovations. Originally from Afghanistan, she has also led nonprofit efforts to deliver technology-based health solutions in international settings. Dr. Rashid is a graduate of Oregon Health and Science University and the Harvard Chan School of Public Health.
