Difficult conversations are a daily reality in palliative care, but clinicians rarely get the chance to practice them in a safe, realistic way. This session introduces EmpathyAI, an advanced learning platform powered by agentic cognitive architectures that simulate emotionally complex patient interactions. Designed to help clinicians navigate conversations involving grief, confusion, anger, and fear, EmpathyAI enables experiential learning that goes beyond checklists and scripts. We’ll explore the technical underpinnings, use cases, and early outcomes, and discuss how emotionally intelligent AI can build confidence, communication skills, and empathy in care.
