Name
Precision obesity care: can AI move us beyond BMI?
Description

Track Chair:

Despite its ubiquity, BMI is a blunt tool that fails to capture the complexity of obesity. This talk will explore how AI—through clustering algorithms, computer vision, and metabolomic modeling—can redefine how we assess and manage obesity. The session will focus on:

  • Personalized obesity phenotyping

  • AI-driven decision support tools

  • Applications post-bariatric surgery and in pharmacotherapy selection (e.g., GLP-1s)
